We introduced the first RED One to work in Barcelona, Spain last week as part of our multi-city shoot for an upcoming Reebok athletic campaign.  The Barcelona portion centered around soccer star Thierry Henry, whose high profile and short availability created a lot of initial trepidation about using this “work-in-progress” of a camera system.  However I was, for the most part, pleasantly surprised.  Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you want to hear my full rundown of the cautions and curiosities of the Red.   

Well, it’s January and therefore, a bunch of music video websites (pretty much the last place you can see music videos in the US) create their top videos-of-the-year lists.  I’m proud to have at least three showcased on Shots Ring Out’s top 79 listing.  Check out the videos by the Rapture and LCD Soundsystem on my site, as well as a hidden gem by a band called “!!!”                                            SRO’S Top 79 or 2007

Last week I shot a campaign for ESPN’s upcoming coverage of the Nationwide NASCAR Series.  It involved many, many days of shooting 40+ highly detailed slot cars on an extremely authentic slot car race track…uhh…call it Ceco Studio Raceway.   ”A” camera was the Panavision Genesis but the hero cam was an Iconix lipstick HD head running to a Sony SRW-1 deck that we built  onto a miniature shotmaker rig to get the driver’s POV shot on a 1/32nd scale.
